Responsibilities
- Collaborate proactively with internal teams (programs, quality, contracts, etc.) to understand and support unique supply chain needs aligned with customer, program, and commodity strategies.
- Source and evaluate supplier quotes; recommend suppliers and negotiate pricing, delivery, quality, and service terms to ensure competitive solutions.
- Identify cost savings opportunities, align with finance and stakeholders, and track actual savings post-implementation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for program-specific suppliers, working closely with program offices, quality, and procurement teams.
- Assist in pricing and maintaining Bill of Materials (BOM) changes related to baseline and estimate-to-complete.
- Review and interpret contractual requirements; manage supplier relationships to ensure compliance with performance and obligations.
- Engage suppliers to resolve issues and negotiate improvements in lead time and other strategic advantages.
- Support proposal phases by ensuring supply chain and contractual compliance.
- Provide analysis on cost and schedule performance.
- Collaborate with project teams and quality to develop BOMs, source suppliers, and ensure documentation compliance.
- Negotiate Long Term Agreements (LTAs) to ensure ongoing contractual coverage and drive cost savings.
- Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting supply chain risk management.
- Manage purchase order (PO) data and partner with accounts payable to resolve invoice/payment discrepancies.
- Act as liaison with material planners, supplier management, and accounts payable to ensure ERP data integrity.
- Negotiate and resolve supplier issues including damage claims, rejections, returns, over shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
- Monitor and update order status; serve as the primary contact for schedule support.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in defense contracting within a supply chain role.
- Strong knowledge of government contracting, including FAR/DFARS acquisition requirements.
- Significant experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or similar).
- In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to analyze and manage MRP exceptions, especially related to BOMs, material planning, and procurement.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in project planning and execution.
