Waypoint's client is seeking an ITI Program-Level Software Systems Engineer to support the Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) AMD Mission Command Product Office. This position focuses on Army Air and Missile Defense mission command systems, with an emphasis on Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) integration with the Army Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS). The role involves developing system-level features, guiding software implementation, and applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities:
- Develop system-level features for THAAD integration with IBCS, defining MEI and CSCI behavior, performance, and acceptance criteria to guide software development.
- Lead feature reviews and adjudicate stakeholder comments to ensure alignment with system objectives.
- Apply MBSE approaches to document features, using SysML/UAF in tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw.
- Collaborate with contractors, government personnel, and system operators to ensure mission needs are met.
- Support requirements decomposition and traceability from high-level mission objectives to implementable software tasks.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to iterative development cycles.
- Maintain high organizational standards and ensure documentation accuracy for system engineering artifacts.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of systems engineering experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following: THAAD, IBCS, tactical command and control systems, tactical weapons systems, tactical sensor systems, software/hardware integration, requirements decomposition, MBSE tools and languages.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to thrive in small-team, collaborative environments.
- Strong organizational skills and deep understanding of system engineering principles.
- Systems engineering experience supporting DoD programs, especially Army Air and Missile Defense.
- Hands-on experience creating SysML/UAF models in Cameo or MagicDraw.
- Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
- SAFe® Agile certification or experience.
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be a resident of, or willing to relocate to, the Huntsville, AL area.
