Technical Writer / Network Engineer, Sr. – Classified Network Operations

A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do

• Provide comprehensive technical documentation support services for a classified network, ensuring accuracy, currency, and compliance with Department of the Air Force (DAF) requirements
• Research, analyze, develop, codify, and prepare technical documents for network operations and maintenance activities
• Create and maintain technical reports, training manuals, technical specifications, user manuals, implementation guides, hardware/software specifications, and process/data flow diagrams
• Manage documentation repositories—cataloging, updating, and ensuring compliance with DAF records management requirements
• Conduct research through interviews with process owners, technical personnel, and users to gather and verify technical data
• Review and edit documentation produced by others to ensure clarity, completeness, and adherence to applicable standards
• Collaborate with Program Offices, engineers, analysts, program managers, and end users during document development and publication
• Develop and present clear, concise briefings, visuals, and dashboard displays to stakeholders

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, or related technical field
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility
• 10+ years of network engineering experience
• 4+ years of technical writing experience (or equivalent formal training)
• Proven ability to interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and brief technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise content
• Familiarity with technical documentation tools, standards, and style guides
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a focus on document accuracy and compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting classified network operations in a DoD environment
• Knowledge of DAF records management and documentation standards
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment supporting mission-critical operations
