ASRC Federal Primus, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Communications/Electronics Maintenance Technician to support our GEODSS program near Stallion Range Center Access, NM 87832.

This is a union represented position that falls under the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 611.

Program: Ground-based Electro-Optical Deep Space Surveillance (GEODSS) System

Basic Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician performs sensor operator and maintenance functions on electro-optical systems. The Maintenance Technician achieves and maintains qualification and proficiency in operating optical sensors to fulfill the GEODSS sensor mission taskings. The Maintenance Technician interfaces with Higher Headquarters personnel, as required, to ensure compliance with all tasking requirements. Performs multiple additional duties and other duties as assigned by the site manager. Ability to work Overtime when needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of assigned electro-optical equipment in accordance with established Technical Orders (TOs), instructions, procedures, and directives.
  • Inspects, calibrates, repairs, and maintains precision electro-optical, electronic, electro-mechanical, and communication equipment and computer systems.
  • Conducts complex troubleshooting, fault-isolation, and diagnostic procedures utilizing various types of TMDE along with applicable technical documentation.
  • Prepares, validates, and maintains various logs, records, and reports.
  • Communicates and coordinates effectively with others in performance of duties.
  • Conducts nightly operations of sensors and provides corrective maintenance support as necessary to ensure mission accomplishment.
  • Completes initial and monthly recurring training and maintains certification for operations positions. Completes Government and corporate ancillary training.
  • Supports the site quality, security, and environmental compliance programs.
  • Additional duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications:
    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
    • One or more years communications/electronics maintenance experience required.
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a group.
    • Excellent attention to detail.

    Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to lift and move 50lbs to any working area of the site.
    • Must be able to access all areas of the site as necessary to troubleshoot/repair equipment on all tower floors, roof, etc.

    Preferences:
    • Prior military experience
    • Experience with Air Force Space Command sensor operations and maintenance or other service equivalency
    • Experience operating and maintaining optical sensors
    • Knowledge of the space surveillance network and satellite catalog
    • Associates degree
    • Five years applicable experience as a digital electronic technician.
    • Formal technical training in electronics or engineering.

    Security Clearance:

    Active SECRET security clearance required - must meet eligibility requirements for TS/SCI
