WORK LOCATION: Remote (U.S.-based only). Preferred candidate location is within a 75-mile radius of Silver Spring, Maryland.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Marketplace Data Analyst to support a federal health IT initiative focused on large-scale data analytics and reporting for the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM). You will analyze complex datasets across multiple platforms, identify key patterns, and transform findings into compelling visual reports to support data-driven decisions. The role involves daily collaboration with cross-functional technical and business teams to ensure data analytics solutions align with mission objectives. You will be integrated into a collaborative, mission-driven team helping to optimize marketplace functionality, enhance consumer experience, and ensure operational excellence across all agent/broker and data analytics domains.

The Marketplace Data Analyst will be expected to:
• Collect, process, and analyze data from various systems and repositories using tools such as New Relic, Splunk, Salesforce, Amazon Data Bricks, SAS, Redash, EDAP, Snowflake, MS Power BI, MarkLogic, XQuery, and JavaScript.
• Apply advanced data science, statistical, and mathematics techniques to interrogate and interpret structured and unstructured datasets.
• Manipulate large datasets to uncover trends, correlations, and anomalies, with a focus on performance monitoring, service metrics, and operational efficiency.
• Design and deliver dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Redash, or similar platforms.
• Write clear, detailed, and insightful analytic reports for executive stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business and technical leads to align data findings with project goals and delivery schedules.
• Provide actionable recommendations based on data insights to support continuous improvement efforts.


EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
An additional four (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

CERTIFICATION(S):
Required: None
Preferred: Certifications in data analytics platforms or tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, AWS Certified Data Analytics, SAS Certified Specialist, Splunk Core Certified User)

YEARS' EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant data analytics or data science experience.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience analyzing data within the health IT or federal marketplace domain is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate brings prior experience working in federally sponsored health IT environments, preferably with CMS Marketplace or FFM data systems, and thrives in agile, matrixed teams that balance innovation with strict data governance and regulatory compliance.
Required:
• Proficiency in using data analytics and monitoring tools such as Splunk, New Relic, Salesforce, Amazon Data Bricks, Snowflake, MS Power BI, or MarkLogic in support of federal or healthcare systems integration environments.
• Strong skills in data interrogation using advanced statistics and mathematical techniques.
• Experience preparing executive-level reports and data presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze A/B testing data and identify trends, anomalies, or correlations.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or data query language (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Scala, SAS).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially with cross-functional teams.
• Preferred:
• Familiarity with the Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) and/or health insurance industry.
• Experience using natural language processing (NLP) or machine learning in data analysis workflows.
• Working knowledge of Redash, EDAP, and data modeling tools.
• Understanding of data governance, quality assurance, and privacy best practices in a federal environment.
