The position requires an individual that can perform prompt, efficient, and professional support to users for their assigned sites; can track and report on the status of work; is able to provide front-line troubleshooting; and is able to utilize a background of experience to resolve issues. Staff in this labor category should possess strong customer service skills, be able to articulate (written and verbally) the problems/issues at their site, and articulate solutions to OTD/OCXS/ONTU Government Task Lead (GTL) and management.

Responsibilities

Functional Responsibilities: The SA shall provide systems administration support and engineering services to a variety of OTD supplied systems at Regional Computer Forensics Laboratories (RCFL), designated field offices, central monitoring plants (CMP), and other FBI facilities. The SA shall provide day-to-day systems administration, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and training of OTD-deployed systems, central monitoring plants (CMP), server rooms, Electronic Surveillance (ELSUR) collection systems, associated feeder systems, and OCXS/ONTU digital forensic systems and associated networks.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of OTD-supplied ELSUR collection systems at the UNCLASSIFIED and SECRET classification levels.

  • Management, operations, and maintenance of enterprise computer-based systems, such as server installation, configuration, policy deployment, enforcement, and monitoring to ensure 24/7/365 continued mission critical operations. Perform deployments, periodic maintenance, monitor for problems, and resolve systems and users' issues.

  • Support systems within a regional model where regions often span multiple states.

  • Liaise with telecommunications service providers to engineer, implement, and troubleshoot telephony input lines.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOP) with Government supervision, guidance, and approvals.

  • Assistance in resolution of user questions/problems regarding installed systems and equipment.

  • Corrective and preventative maintenance of systems to identify and correct performance, and implementation failures, faults or defaults that impair system/equipment performance and functionality. h. Coordination of warranty work, troubleshooting and emergency repairs to effect immediate corrections so that operations are not interrupted.

  • Preventative maintenance to adjust, maintain, or otherwise improve performance or enhance the overall maintainability of systems/equipment.

  • Risk analysis to identify potential problems, systems/equipment modification and/or correction.

  • Perform inventory, logistical, and clerical support for shipments and deliveries of operational equipment.

  • Prepare administrative and other reports for submission to OCXS Management, OCXS Program Management (PM) and Field Office Customers as required.


Required Experience (years of experience/certification(s)/specialized experience)

Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, plus at least five (5) years of relevant work experience installing, managing, and maintaining IT systems in a production environment described above or in lieu of education nine (9) years of experience. If utilizing in lieu of education, all experience must be at or above the position level described above.
