Job Title: Senior ServiceNow Engineer
Location: Columbia, MD (Once in a month onsite)
Interviews: First round virtual, second round onsite
Position Summary:
The Senior ServiceNow Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining ServiceNow platform solutions to support enterprise service management across UMMS. This role will work closely with IT, security, and healthcare teams to implement and enhance modules including ITSM, ITOM, SPM, HRSD, and SecOps.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead configuration and customization of core ServiceNow modules (ITSM, HRSD, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery).
• Develop custom applications using JavaScript and ServiceNow tools (Business Rules, UI Policies, Script Includes, etc.).
• Manage forms, tables, workflows, notifications, ACLs, and integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers).
• Oversee ServiceNow upgrades, patching, regression testing, and UAT.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve platform issues.
• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement gathering.
• Support Agile processes—sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
• Mentor junior developers and promote best practices.
• Maintain platform documentation, dashboards, and operational metrics.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and role-based access controls (RBAC).

Required Qualifications:
• 6–7 years of relevant experience (please do not submit candidates with more than 7 years).
• ServiceNow Application Developer Certification required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a ServiceNow Administrator/Developer.
• At least 5 years of experience in ITSM processes and tools.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with REST/SOAP integrations.
• Strong JavaScript, HTML, and ServiceNow scripting experience.
• Experience with ServiceNow integration technologies (APIs, SSO, LDAP, JDBC, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS).
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Familiarity with Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), HAM/SAM.

• Deep understanding of ServiceNow architecture and module configuration.
• Ability to build dashboards, SLA metrics, custom workflows, and service catalogs.
• Strong platform governance, optimization, and performance tuning skills.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation abilities.
• Experience managing user roles, permissions, and access controls.
