SSI seeks a Product Owner Proxy to join our team supporting the Program Office for Logistics Integrated Information Systems – Marine Corps in Stafford, VA. The Systems Engineer will work directly with the client analyzing complex and unique technical support assignments and lead or collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity personnel, logisticians, and program analysts within a scaled agile environment. The Systems Engineer will oversee the creation of hybrid software, web and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance. Integrate various network operating systems, application programs and hardware devices through system specification, design, coding, testing and maintenance support and consider overall project design including cost, schedule, and social issues that may be associated with a project.
Responsibilities:
• Review and analyze raw logistics data; extract meaningful insights and identify trends from raw data sources.
• Support federated data governance development; contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies and procedures.
• Support data analytics initiatives; contribute to data analytics projects.
• Assist and advise on dashboard development; provide guidance and support in the design and creation of dashboards related to logistical data, particularly USMC information.
• Focus on USMC logistics data; ensure a strong understanding of USMC logistics data domains, including maintenance, supply, transportation, and National Stock Number (NSN) identification.
Qualifications
• BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university; MA/MS degree preferred.
• 10+ years of professional experience.
• 3+ years of database experience using query languages such as SQL, Python and R.
• Experience with Navy or Marine Corps supply and maintenance logistics data preferred.
• Working knowledge of Global Combat Support System – Marine Corps (GCSS-MC).
• Proven ability to work on high visible or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently.
• Ability to manage the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific task.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government personnel, and other stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills, good judgment, and the ability to lead a team or perform independently.
