The referenced pay range is based on JHU APL’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development. As a Financial Analyst you will...
- Collaborate with internal customers and stakeholders to play an active role in the overall financial success and operational efficiency of our overhead portfolio.
- Prepare and present clear, accurate financial briefings for senior leaders with an emphasis on insight, precision, and clarity.
- Analyze, prepare, and present comprehensive monthly financial reports on the fiscal/operational health of our technical teams.
- Integrate data from multiple systems (e.g., PEER, Data Warehouse, ADDIT, EBSS) to produce ad-hoc and routine analyses.
- Partner with REDD Leadership and assist in the development of labor and non-labor plans, including in depth variance analysis and reporting.
- Develop long range forecasting models to inform REDD strategic priorities
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Bachelor 's Degree in a Business area (e.g. Business Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance)
- Have a 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Have the proven ability to be a self-starter with a high level of initiative and ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Are highly skilled in Microsoft Excel.
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Demonstrated excellence in problem recognition, follow-through, initiative, discretion, good judgment when dealing with sensitive information, and success meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills to include a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with different levels of staff with little supervision.
- Analytical thinking and ability to recognize and correct grammatical, spelling, punctuation, numerical, and logical organizational errors.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where priorities can shift quickly.
- Are able to obtain a Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

- A Master's Degree in Business & Administration, Accounting, Finance, or similar field.
- Have experience with APL business systems (PEER, Data Warehouse, ADDIT, EBSS).
- Experience with Tableau Software and/or PowerBI.
