System Administrator III Location: Berkeley, MO Duration: 12 plus months
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
Role Overview This position supports multiple U.S. Department of Defense programs and plays a vital role in ensuring the functionality, performance, and security of complex computing environments. The System Administrator will contribute to the installation, configuration, and maintenance of multi-platform systems while collaborating with internal and external teams to support mission-critical operations. Travel may be required based on project needs.

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a technical field and five or more years of relevant work experience. Equivalent combinations such as Master's with three years, PhD, or nine years of technical work experience are also acceptable.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux systems
- Perform troubleshooting and restoration of computing services including backups, networking, and domain issues
- Ensure systems meet JSIG and RMF cybersecurity compliance standards
- Integrate security tools and solutions across infrastructure
- Develop and deploy custom operating system images
- Execute system upgrades and patching for software and operating systems
- Document operational procedures and create training materials
- Manage virtual machines across various platforms
- Provide integration and software support in secure environments
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex technical issues
Scope of Work
- Tier 1: User account support, file share creation, break-fix resolution, hardware movement
- Tier 2: Desktop setup, software and antivirus installation, patch deployment, server-based app troubleshooting
- Tier 3: Windows Server installation, advanced GPO configurations, deep troubleshooting of system and software issues
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of experience with Windows Server 2016 or later
- Minimum three years of Windows desktop administration experience
- Active CompTIA Security Plus certification or equivalent under DoD 8570.01 guidelines
Preferred Skills
- Experience with NetApp or other SAN technologies
- Familiarity with McAfee ePO management
- Working knowledge of Splunk Forwarders and Indexers
- Backup technology experience including NetBackup or BackupExec
- Linux system administration experience
