Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Atlassian JIRA & Confluence Specialist to design, administer, and optimize enterprise-level Atlassian platforms. This hybrid (as needed) role based in Arlington / Alexandria / McLean requires a technically proficient professional with hands-on experience in custom workflow design, scripting, integrations, and user support. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving collaboration and process improvement across teams by effectively leveraging JIRA, Confluence, and related technologies.
Minimum Requirements
⦁ 2+ years of experience with ScriptRunner for JIRA/Confluence, including Groovy scripting and custom workflows.
⦁ 3+ years of experience with Java, JavaScript, and HTML.
⦁ Proficiency in Python.
⦁ Experience with LDAP integration for user management in Atlassian tools.
⦁ Hands-on experience developing and integrating REST APIs.
⦁ Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, especially GitLab.
⦁ Strong ability to independently troubleshoot, reverse engineer workflows, and implement improvements.
⦁ Proven experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
⦁ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
Key Responsibilities
⦁ Configure and manage LDAP user directories for authentication and authorization.
⦁ Design and maintain custom workflows using ScriptRunner, REST API, and native Atlassian features.
⦁ Develop and integrate tools using Java, JavaScript, HTML, and Python.
⦁ Administer and extend JIRA and Confluence platforms, supporting advanced workflow functionality.
⦁ Integrate Atlassian tools with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab).
⦁ Reverse engineer and enhance existing workflows and scripts.
⦁ Document technical procedures, integrations, and workflow logic.
⦁ Provide ongoing user support, training, and troubleshooting.
⦁ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize tool usage and team efficiency
Skills and Proficiencies
⦁ Expertise in ScriptRunner, Groovy scripting, and Atlassian administration.
⦁ Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, HTML, and Python.
⦁ Knowledge of LDAP, REST API development, and system integration.
⦁ Experience in CI/CD environments and DevOps practices.
⦁ Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities.
⦁ Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
⦁ Ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business solutions.
