Waypoint's client is seeking an experienced Acquisition Specialist to support Task Force STRIKE at Redstone Arsenal. This role is responsible for guiding acquisition strategy, managing contract execution, and supporting the development of acquisition documentation to ensure alignment with DoD and Army requirements. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience supporting Army acquisition programs and a strong understanding of procurement regulations and processes.

Waypoint's client is seeking an experienced Acquisition Specialist to support Task Force STRIKE at Redstone Arsenal. This role is responsible for guiding acquisition strategy, managing contract execution, and supporting the development of acquisition documentation to ensure alignment with DoD and Army requirements. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience supporting Army acquisition programs and a strong understanding of procurement regulations and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and analyze acquisition strategies during pre-solicitation phases.
- Monitor contract execution, including funding, modifications, and performance tracking.
- Prepare reports, information papers, talking points, project calendars, schedules, development metrics, and briefings for senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on acquisition regulatory requirements and compliance.
- Coordinate and support development of government Contract Requirement Packages.
- Analyze contract requirements, terms, and provisions to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Draft and review acquisition documentation such as Simplified Acquisition Management Plans, MOAs, Transition Agreements, Broad Agency Announcements, Annual Spend Plans, RFPs, and RFIs.
- Conduct market research and support drafting of sources sought notices.
- Support the development and implementation of Support Agreements.
- Assist in drafting Statements of Work (SOWs), Performance Work Statements (PWS), CDRLs, source selection plans, IGEs, and other contract documentation.
- Review and provide feedback on contractor technical evaluations.
- Support the establishment of long-range procurement objectives across fiscal years.
- Exercise independent judgment to manage a fast-paced, detail-oriented acquisition workload.
- Interpret acquisition regulations and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project goals.
- Support management of property delivery and transfer for both FAR-based and OTA contracts.
- Bachelor's degree (Business preferred or 24 credit hours in business-related courses).
- 5 to 10 years of experience supporting DoD acquisition programs, including experience in a Government program office for weapon systems acquisition.
- Deep understanding of system acquisition principles and DoD acquisition processes.
- Familiarity with DoD and Army acquisition directives and policies.
- Experience with Army Contracting Command or similar acquisition offices.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and acquisition IT tools.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Experience with budget and appropriation processes (e.g., PBR, POM, PB, 1-N lists).
- Current Secret clearance.
- Up to 10% travel
- Experience supporting rapid or expedited acquisition efforts.
- Background working in one or more Army program offices.
- DoD Acquisition Workforce Certification Level III.
- Experience in R&D or test and evaluation communities.
- Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and DoD 5000 series directives.
- TS/SCI eligibility.
