ARS is seeking a Journeyman Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) Engineer to support Air Force weapon systems engineering programs. This role involves developing and implementing R&M processes to ensure weapon systems meet reliability and maintainability requirements throughout their lifecycle. The position requires supporting milestone reviews, analyzing failure data, conducting technical assessments, and providing engineering expertise for weapon system acquisition, sustainment, and disposal activities. Candidate must possess an active Secret clearance and have a degree from an ABET-accredited program.

Responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement effective R&M processes that align with program acquisition, sustainment, and disposal strategies
- Review and analyze Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) data and reliability reports
- Work with G081 database to monitor field failure reporting and assist with Deficiency Report (DR) classification and resolution
- Review system design baselines, OEM technical proposals, and modifications for design feasibility and compatibility
- Conduct performance effectiveness, cost effectiveness, life-cycle cost, maintainability, supportability, and reliability assessments
- Support milestone preparation and participate in System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Design Reviews (PDR/CDR), and other technical reviews
- Assist in translating user requirements into weapon system R&M requirements
- Support Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century (AFSO21) initiatives and value stream mapping activities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Technical Experience Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Secret clearance required
- Must be a US Citizen
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- Knowledge of DoD, Air Force, and engineering principles for weapon systems
- Experience with Life Cycle Systems Engineering (LCSE) processes
- Understanding of Operational, Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) requirements
- Familiarity with Air Force Instructions (AFIs) and related engineering documentation
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (required)
- Relevant engineering disciplines: Systems Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
