Position Title: Senior Data Scientist

Location: National Capital Region (NCR) - Washington Metropolitan Area

Remote Work: Not authorized without prior government approval

Clearance Level: Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)

Education Level: Master's degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Information Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field

Experience: Eight (8) years of relevant experience in Data Science, Mathematics, Information Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related degree

This position is for a proposal with the FBI; current or previous experience is required. A Letter of Intent is also required to be signed to be submitted along with your resume.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience in Data Science, Mathematics, Information Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related degree

  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments

  • Plans and leads major technology assignments

  • Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success

  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments with supervisory capabilities

  • Collaborates with non-technical, national security investigators and analysts to understand their data science needs

  • Suggests solutions and completes work in a timely manner

  • Leads and designs machine learning (ML), statistical analysis, and data analysis tasks

  • Leverages existing and conducts custom Extract Transform Load (ETL) work to aggregate data from multiple repositories

  • Conditions data to provide novel insights

  • Interprets data, identifies features and model variables, assesses quality of model outputs

  • Generates alternatives and conducts remediation

  • Finds and designs new approaches to handling, analyzing, and using large volumes of data and data sets

  • Explores fundamental issues with data handling, search, and retention

  • Designs new software code to improve data search processes

  • Designs, tests, and validates quality of data and data processes

  • Automates routine workflows and data analysis steps to assist with workflow automation

  • Reports results of analyses and provides actionable recommendations


Required Technical Proficiencies:

  • Expert knowledge of data science and/or data analytics with Python (high level proficiency required)

  • Machine learning models and artificial intelligence techniques

  • Statistical analysis and data modeling

  • ETL processes and data pipeline development

  • Large-scale data processing and analysis

  • Data visualization and reporting


Required and Desired Certifications:

  • Microsoft (MS) Power BI, MS Power Suite certifications (preferred)

  • Databricks, Apache Spark certifications (preferred)

  • Commercial Cloud, Cybersecurity platform certifications (preferred)
