ASRC Federal Data Solutions proudly supports the Defense Health Agency and is seeking a Network Voice/Data Communications Engineer Senior to join our team. Summary : This role will be on-site Tuesday through Thursday at Ft Sam Houston but work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. This role will focus on a mix of technologies (Brocade, Juniper and Cisco) with a focus on layer 2/layer 3 switches. We offer an excellent salary and benefits package that includes certification and tuition reimbursement, and a matching 401k with immediate vesting.
Work arrangement : Hybrid/Primarily Onsite (3 days a week onsite)
Clearance: Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance; active Secret is preferred

Responsibilities:
- Shall develop, test, document, implement, and maintain DHA enterprise-wide LAN and WLAN standards and baseline configuration files to normalize and optimize its performance and availability in a multivendor environment.
- Shall support Cisco, Juniper, Rukus Networks | Commscope, and Extreme LAN components, as well as Cisco and Aruba WLAN components.
- Collaborate with DHA LAN sustainment, deployment, and NETDEVOPs teams to automate the implementation of standards, normalization, and optimization tasks.
- Deliver engineering solution packages that resolve, address, and improve the DHA enterprise architecture, system, and component performance throughout its lifecycle.
- Design, engineer, construct, develop, test, troubleshoot, debug, and resolve obscure problems efficiently with expert level methods and techniques to restore network and service outages and performance issues.
- Interact with DHA stakeholders, deployment, and sustainment teams to integrate automation to increase and improve product and service delivery.
- Mentor early in career engineers to enable new capabilities, evangelize best practices and accelerate delivery readiness.
- Manage tools used to deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and operate infrastructure, lab topologies, and end user experience. Tools will include open source and commercial off the shelf products that include Micro Focus Network Automation, CheckMK, SolarWinds Orion and associated products, python, GIT, PowerShell, ENMS.io, as well as other scripting languages and interpreters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience is required, including substitutions for experience without a degree.
- CCNA certification required (or other vendor equivalent)
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret; active Secret preferred.
- Successfully completing a government issued background investigation.
- Solid switching experience needed. Brocade/Ruckus is strongly desired.
- Experience with automation tools such as SolarWinds or eNMS (MFNA - Network Configuration and Change Management/NCCM) is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of Data Management, Configuration Management, and Orchestration capabilities and best practices i s a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of network environments, including Ruckus, Cisco, or Juniper
- CompTIA Security+ (must be able to obtain within 30 days of start of employment) required .
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in the following technologies:
- Experience in an MSP environment
- Knowledge of VMware, Proxmax, Cisco UCS servers and Office,SolarWinds
- Knowledge of and previous experience with the RMF process, the system accreditation process, and the process leading to DHA approval
- for inclusion of items on the DHA Approved Product List desired.
