Copperhead, an operating group of Command Holdings, is seeking a dedicated professional with a proven track record of success to join our team. The Xactimate Subject Matter Expert will support our work with FEMA and the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Claims located in Santa Fe, NM. The Xactimate Subject Matter Expert will be responsible policy interpretation, technical knowledge, use of clear and effective communication, use of technology and have a high degree of knowledge in their subject matter (Xactimate).

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting with building reports to include but not limited to: Xactimate Software.
  • These reports shall be created and added to claims as documentation to determine allowable payable costs claimed based on the legislation, regulations, and policies of the Claims Office.

Candidates are not required to be local in Sante Fe, NM but they must be willing to support on-site on a 6-10 shift schedule for 90-days at a time.

Travel, lodging and per diem are provided.

This position is contingent on contract award.

Work Environment:
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.

Physical Demands:
  • While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to sit, stand, talk, and hear.
  • Employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer.

Travel:
  • 50%+ / Frequent travel.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Any industry-standard certification required for specific SME type (Xactimate).
  • Minimum of ten years of combined experience in the field of practice as a Subject Matter Expert with focus on the following areas;
    • Policy Interpretation:
      • Ability to understand and interpret complex federal policy language, including relevant statutes, regulations, policies, guidance, and directions.
    • Technical Knowledge:
      • Disaster-related knowledge and background to accurately assess losses, damages, repairs, and replacement costs in line with subject matter areas of expertise.
    • Clear and Effective Communication:
      • Customer service, excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge and ability to explain policy and regulations to claimants, FEMA staff, and other stakeholders.
    • Use of Technology:
      • Proficiency in using claims management software, databases, and other technology tools that facilitate claim processing, documentation, and communication.
    • SME Reports:
      • Must be proficient and have a high degree of knowledge on how to accurately build SME reports which provide adequate compensation for claimants to rebuild and recover.
      • Must be proficient in assessing property and fire related and flood-related, and other compensable damages accurately, which involves understanding the extent of damage, the required repairs, required documentation, and associated costs.
  • Must be willing to support on-site on a 6-10 shift schedule for 90-days at a time.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation including fingerprinting.
  • Must be able to obtain DHS suitability.

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Copperhead Technologies will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree.
  • Previous support/experience with FEMA.
