Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The Opportunity:
As a Deployment Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the successful deployment of major new and enhanced IPPS-A HR and Payroll functionality. This position requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership, communication, and technical skills to ensure seamless integration and operational readiness across the enterprise. You will be at the forefront of coordinating with various teams, managing complex interdependencies, and ensuring that all deployment activities align with the organization's goals and timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and Readiness: Lead the planning and readiness activities in coordination with functional, technical, training, and change management teams.
- Deployment Plans: Develop, validate, and execute enterprise-wide deployment plans, including contingency planning and operational readiness measurements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Release Train Engineer (RTE), Agile Release Trains (ARTs), testing, release management, and training leadership to align milestones with program increments (PIs).
- Cross-Component Coordination: Coordinate across multiple Army components, trading partners, system integrators, and training leaders to achieve operational readiness and on-schedule go-lives.
- Cutover Plans: Develop and execute cutover plans, considering the Solution Train roadmap, program milestones, Army business cycles, and other mission-critical constraints.
- Post-Go-Live Support: Partner with the PMO to define a post go-live support strategy, stabilization plans, and performance metrics.
- Risk Management: Proactively manage implementation risks, complex interdependencies, and emergency response planning.
- Command Center Operations: Lead command center operations during deployment windows and oversee hypercare/post-go-live stabilization.
- Reporting: Provide deployment status, issue escalation, and executive-level reporting, working long hours at critical times.
- Liaison Role: Serve as the deployment liaison between PMO, technical teams, customer leadership, vendors, and change management leads.
- Facilitation: Facilitate go/no-go meetings, production readiness reviews, rehearsal of concept drills, tabletop exercises, and post-mortem retrospectives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- At least five (5)years' direct experience directing and coordinating program activities associated with supporting the planning and deployment/implementation of an ERP system and associated enhancements
- Demonstrated experience with PeopleSoft HCM, Payroll, or similar ERP HR system
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Project and documenting plans in Microsoft Word/PowerPoint or similar products
- Strong understanding of change management principles
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, including command center coordination and stakeholder reporting
- Active Secret Clearance
Desired:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems Management, or related technical field
- Proven success in leading large-scale deployments with 100K+ end-users in complex organizational or government settings
- Deep understanding of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), cloud architectures, and DevSecOps methodologies
- SAFe Agile certification (e.g., SAFe Agilist, SAFe Program Consultant)
- PMP certification
- Familiarity with Army structure, HR and Payroll functions, and processes
