Columbia, MD (On-Site/Office)
Description:
We support the US Navy and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) by performing trade studies, design prototyping, and analysis of radars, EO/IR sensors, seeker systems, electronic warfare systems, and weapon systems. We are seeking a junior radar systems modeling engineer to support the development and execution of radar and/or RF seeker simulations, add new capabilities to existing simulations, and deliver the simulations to both support internal analysis and as inclusion in deliverable simulations to our government customers and end-users. The engineer will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, demonstrating the capability to customers and stakeholders, and potentially leading a team of engineers and software developers to design and develop these simulation solutions. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with experienced engineers and develop expertise in radar systems, electromagnetic modeling, and advanced signal processing.
Location: Colombia, MD
Pay Rate: ($90/hr.-$100/hr. W2)
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a W2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. For our W2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Responsibilities:
The candidate must be a US citizen and have a background that would permit the U.S. Department of Defense to issue a Secret clearance.
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
Minimum of 8 years of experience
Fundamental knowledge of radar signal processing techniques and concepts
Experience or coursework in sensor systems, electromagnetic theory, or digital signal processing (DSP)
Proficiency in MATLAB for modeling, simulation, and data analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
Experience Requirements:
Experience modeling radar systems that support MDA and Navy missions
Experience performing radar system performance prediction, and data analysis
Familiarity with electronic attack and protection techniques
Strong understanding of RF propagation
Familiarity with Python, C++, or Simulink for algorithm development
Graduate-level coursework and/or hands-on project experience in radar systems and radar signal processing
Prior experience with sensor HW design, signal processing, tracking algorithms, and/or resource management
Experience in development of simulation tools and test tools for sensor analysis
Education Requirements:
Active Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
