The Opportunity:
Join a forward-leaning cybersecurity team focused on securing cutting-edge cloud-based platforms. Serve as a key security engineer in agile security scrums, collaborating with developers and system architects. Take ownership of continuous monitoring efforts and the implementation of NIST 800-53 security controls. Play a critical role in system accreditation processes using tools like XACTA and ACAS. Partner directly with customers to ensure compliance, transparency, and strong security postures across environments.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) supporting cloud-based and hybrid systems.
• Participate in security-focused scrum teams to integrate security into the development lifecycle.
• Conduct updates and system security assessments using XACTA.
• Perform automated vulnerability scans and analysis using tools like ACAS.
• Develop, update, and maintain all required system security documentation (SSPs, POA&Ms, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with multiple regimes, including NIST SP 800-53 and Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve security concerns and improve controls.
• Lead and support continuous monitoring activities for operational systems.
• Design, implement, and maintain technical and procedural security controls.
• Contribute to Authority to Operate (ATO) packages and security reviews.
Qualifications:
Required:
• U.S. Citizenship required with an active TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Security Engineer or ISSE, preferably in a cloud environment.
• Working knowledge of XACTA, ACAS, and NIST SP 800-53.
• Experience with RMF and federal cybersecurity compliance processes.
• Familiarity with continuous monitoring strategies and implementation.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining security documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desired:
• Experience with AWS or Azure Government cloud environments.
• CISSP, CAP, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
• Familiarity with other security tools (e.g., Nessus, Splunk, HBSS).
• Previous experience in direct customer-facing security roles.
