AIP is looking for an Assistant Food Service Manager to work in Miami, FL. The Assistant Food Service Manager (AFSM) performs all tasks as required to ensure the Food Service department functions appropriately and within compliance of all standards on a day-to-day basis as designed. The AFSM will report to the Food Service Manager (FSM). The AFSM assumes all duties and authority of the FSM in his/her absence (cross reference Food Service Manager - Krome).
Responsibilities
- Directly supervises the kitchen functions and kitchen staff.
- Ensures that meal service is timely, temperature controlled, and following the approved menu plans.
- Maintains the food service stock levels and ensures a minimum of 15-day food and supplies are stocked for the facility.
- Ensures that the kitchen and all Food Service operations are in full compliance with all cleanliness, sanitation, and safety requirements as prescribed in ACA, PBNDS, and Miami-Dade County health department.
- Makes recommendations to the Food Service Manager on staff related issues.
- Prepare and submit kitchen reports for food consumption, waste, and inventory on time and accurately.
- Leads the quality assurance for Food Service operations.
- Ensures implementation and enforcement of food services new policies/procedures.
- Ensures work is completed in a priority established by facility need.
- All work is completed with a high degree of professionalism, quality and craftsmanship.
- Keeps up to date on departmental and facility safety standards and local codes and policies.
- Assist with placing order for consumable and non-consumable items as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, desired culinary or food service advanced technical diploma or training.
- Minimum three (3) years' experience at a supervisory level or above role in an industrial food service setting.
- Must have strong leadership ability, sound judgment, and effective administrative ability.
- Must be proficient in MS Office for developing reports and maintaining inventory records.
- Must have understanding of time management methods to ensure meal schedule timeliness
- Must be able to speak, read, and write, and understand English.
- Knowledge of program objectives, policies, procedures, and requirements for managing a secure detention facility.
- Able to pass the ICE National Agency Check, Person of Public Trust.
- Must be a United States citizen, or a person lawfully admitted into the United States with permanent residence in the U.S. for the last five (5) years.
