CLASSIFICATION: Machinery Maintenance Mechanic; CBA Rate $35.08/Hr.
GRADE: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Supervisor

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Primary job function is to operate and maintain gun systems in support of gun testing. These systems include Gatling type guns (GAU-8A, M61A1, GAU-2), single barrel automatic weapons (MK-44, L-60), and single shot Mann barrel systems (.50 caliber, 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 40mm and the 105mm Howitzer).
GENERAL DUTIES:
OTHER DUTIES: May be required to perform additional duties such as security, environmental, management, safety, etc. May be required to work with hazardous material and/or collect hazardous waste. Respirator training and ALARA training may be required to assist personnel in the RCA (Radiation Controlled Area) at Test Area C-64.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a high school graduate and have five years' experience in gun maintenance. Must have a valid Drivers' License. Good computer skills are highly desirable. This position requires successful completion of a National Agency Check, with Investigation (NACI) and will require a Secret security clearance. Must submit to a NACI and must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance. .
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires successful completion of a National Agency Check, with Investigation (NACI) and will require a Secret security clearance. Must submit to a NACI and must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance. All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Must have a valid Drivers' License. Must adhere to safety and environmental rules and regulations, as well as wearing of company provided personal protection equipment. Will often be required to work extended hours and weekend work. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works inside and outside while operating and maintaining equipment and subjected to various environmental conditions peculiar to various work locations and work areas that may be dirty, greasy, and noisy. Must adhere to safety and environmental rules and regulations, as well as wearing of company provided personal protection equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Physical effort required consists of crawling, bending, stooping, and standing. May be required to move or lift heavy items during the performance of duties. Close hand and eye coordination is required in performing many varied tasks.

- Operation and maintenance procedures will be IAW Air Force Technical Orders and will require maintenance logs in a database format.
- Will be required to load, fire, download, and repair gun systems.
- Must work with heavy equipment and will be required to operate forklifts, ditch witches, farm tractor, and mowing equipment.
- Will be required to use and wear appropriate safety equipment.
- Other job functions include general housekeeping and related tasks as assigned.
- Additional support will include configuring systems for tests in accordance with test directives and method of tests.
- Will often be required to work extended hours and weekend work.
