Bring Clarity to Mission-Critical Cybersecurity Operations

Clearance: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility clearance (US Citizenship Required)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM

Overview:
Join a team where your words support national defense. You ll work alongside cybersecurity operators, former special forces members, and elite-level engineers on high-impact, often undisclosed projects that secure some of the most critical government and defense networks in the nation. This role is more than documentation it s about translating complex, mission-sensitive cybersecurity operations into actionable, compliant, and traceable guidance that fuels frontline success.

We're looking for a detail-oriented Technical Writer to develop, manage, and deliver high-quality documentation supporting secure IT operations and cybersecurity activities within classified DoD environments. You ll partner with cybersecurity analysts, network engineers, and senior stakeholders to shape SOPs, CONOPS, white papers, security audit reports, and internal communications.

Responsibilities:
  • Translate technical data from cybersecurity experts into standardized formats (SOPs, CONOPS, white papers, etc.)
  • Maintain and manage version-controlled libraries using SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
  • Ensure compliance with DoD documentation standards including formatting and classification protocols
  • Support audits, RMF packages, and NIST 800-53 documentation updates
  • Develop customer deliverables: Monthly Status Reports, Meeting Minutes, Risk Logs, and more
  • Help prepare internal briefings, technical summaries, and executive communications
  • Assist in proposal documentation and user-facing content for knowledge sharing and awareness
Requirements:
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor s or Master s in a technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered
  • 5 7+ years of technical writing in cybersecurity, IT, or defense programs
  • Experience documenting operations involving network defense, vulnerability analysis, or incident response
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with DoD and IC environments strongly preferred
  • Bonus if you bring journalism, communications, or light marketing writing experience
  • Technical writing certifications (STC, TWHQ) and/or IAT Level II certs (Security+, CySA+, etc.) a plus
