Position Overview

Responsible for managing and overseeing all MEP aspects of hospital construction projects. This role ensures the design, installation, and integration of MEP systems align with healthcare standards, regulatory requirement, and operational efficiency. MEP collaborates with architect, engineers, contractors, and medical professionals to deliver a safe, reliable, and high performance hospital environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and design of MEP system, ensuring integration with hospital infrastructure.
  • Develop and review MEP drawings, specifications, and layouts to align with healthcare facility needs.
  • Coordinate with architect, medical professionals and engineers to ensure hospital specific MEP requirements are met.
  • Ensure all MEP systems comply with healthcare facility regulations.
  • Implement infection control measures, fire protection, medical gas systems, and emergency power supply designs.
  • Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and certification for MEP installations.
  • Manage the installation, testing, and commissioning of MEP systems.
  • Supervise MEP contractors, ensuring high quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines.
  • Conduct site inspections to resolve MEP related construction issues and provide technical guidance.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budget plans, and procurement strategies for MEP components.
  • Optimize resource allocation and ensure cost effective selection of materials and equipment.
  • Monitor expenses, track variations, and control costs without compromising quality.
  • Integrate energy efficient and sustainable MEP solutions, including HVAC optimization and renewable energy sources.
  • Design water conservation and waste management systems to reduce environmental impact.
  • Implement smart building technologies and automation for improved facility management.
  • Collaborate with project manager, hospital administrators, and facility engineers to align MEP systems with operational needs.
  • Conduct regular coordination meeting, technical reviews, and progress updates.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risk associated with MEP design and installation.
  • Ensure rigorous quality control and testing of MEP systems before hospital handover.
  • Address maintenance and operational challenges to ensure long term reliability and performance.

Selection Criteria

Essential
  • A Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
  • 3 years' experience in MEP hospitals or healthcare facility construction.
  • Proficiency AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HVAC design, electrical system and fire protection.
  • Familiarity with hospital planning guidelines, infection control, and medical facility requirements.
  • Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate complex healthcare projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills for managing teams and stakeholders.
