The FBI's Insider Threat Office is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Analyst to advance our national security mission of detecting, deterring, and mitigating insider threats. This position blends cutting-edge analytical work with leadership and mentoring responsibilities, making it ideal for candidates committed to protecting sensitive information and empowering others.

Advanced Analytical & Research Work
  • Conduct complex data analysis and generate actionable insights.
  • Estimate probabilities based on historical data and emerging trends.
  • Design query techniques and prototype algorithms for massive datasets.
  • Produce detailed studies using factual data to support decision-making.
  • Juggle multiple priorities and manage simultaneous projects effectively.

Leadership & Mentorship
  • Serve as a role model and guide junior analysts and contractors.
  • Share expertise and encourage analytical best practices.
  • Communicate program goals and policies to newer team members.
  • Identify industry trends relevant to insider threat detection.

Strategic Contribution & Quality Assurance
  • Initiate and lead innovative projects to address threat intelligence gaps.
  • Implement quality control measures across all deliverables.
  • Support strategic planning and requirements management.
  • Evaluate study impacts and provide actionable recommendations.

Communication & Reporting
  • Develop professional reports, presentations, charts, and visual data products.
  • Deliver briefings to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Clearly communicate findings and methodologies in written and oral formats.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (Substitution: 4 years of military or federal service in a similar program).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in national security or operational security analysis.
  • Prior FBI experience is highly preferred.
  • High attention to detail and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Chrome.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Experience with classified and open-source databases.
  • Skilled in data interpretation, organization, and reporting.

Position Details:

  • Pay Rate / Range: $45-50


The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position's responsibilities; the candidate's experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
