This System Administrator II role centers around the implementation, administration, and optimization of ForeScout CounterACT within DoD network environments. The position requires a highly skilled professional with 3+ years of hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining ForeScout systems, both physical and virtual, to enforce network access control and endpoint compliance.
The individual will play a critical role in cybersecurity posture through integration with the DoD Comply-to-Connect (C2C) Framework, ensuring systems are compliant with all Five-Step C2C requirements. In addition to routine ForeScout system maintenance—including upgrades, health checks, and custom dashboard/content development—the candidate will be responsible for designing and supporting 802.1x authentication via the ForeScout RADIUS plugin across operational networks.
Additional responsibilities include:
Timely written notifications (within 4 hours) to designated ITEC/PC personnel regarding movement of accountable IT equipment.
Cable management standards, ensuring all system and peripheral cables are neatly bundled and concealed after installations or maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy, configure, and maintain ForeScout CounterACT and related plugins.
Develop custom dashboards and policies for improved visibility and control.
Perform updates, health checks, and ensure availability of both virtual and physical appliances.
Implement and maintain 802.1x enforcement via ForeScout RADIUS plugin.
Ensure continuous compliance with DoD C2C Framework standards.
Coordinate hardware inventory movements with appropriate custodians.
Maintain physical IT hygiene through professional cable routing and concealment.
