ASRC Federal System Solutions is seeking a Security Support Specialist to join our Remote Monitoring and Logging System ( RMLS ) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

RMLS is the FAA's logging system for recording maintenance work performed on facilities in the National Airspace System (NAS). RMLS provides a rich database of unstructured text; reading every log file.

We are looking for an Information Assurance/Information Security Specialist to research, implement, and/or maintain security solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the research and documentation of RMLS test plans, security design solutions, and a variety of security issues including:
  • Data Calls,
  • National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53 Controls,
  • Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMS), and
  • ATO documentation requirements.

Citizenship/Permanent Residency Requirement

All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance.
  • Be a US Citizen, have a US Green Card, or a Non-immigrant Work Authorization (VISA).
  • Has resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years.
  • The company is unable to sponsor candidates at this time.

Relocation Requirement

Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance to Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Education Requirement

All Non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.
  • Associate of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and four (4) years related work experience in a computer science or math field . OR
    • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or Math, or a Bachelor's degree in another technical field with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science and two (2) years related work experience in a computer science or math field . OR
    • Master's Degree in any field of study with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours of either undergrad or grad study in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.

Required Skills
  • Knowledge/experience in:
    • Information Technology (IT) skills, including hardware, software, networks.
    • Federal Security regulations, standards, and processes including:
      • Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA)
      • Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)
      • NIST
      • Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)
  • Ability to:
    • Work independently, as well as on a team.
    • Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.
    • Customer service skills.

Preferred Skills
  • Cybersecurity certifications (this is not an all inclusive list):
    • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)
    • ISC-2 Associate Comp TIA A+
    • Comp TIA Network+
    • ISACA SCX Cybersecurity Fundamentals Certificate
    • Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) Security Fundamental

Essential Daily Job Duties
  • Provide 2nd Level Engineering support for RMLS.
  • Inform and educate RMLS Team and stakeholders on security related information.
  • Develop and implement plans to safeguard computer files against unauthorized modification, destruction or disclosure.
  • Research, implement, monitor and upgrade computer antivirus and malware protection systems.
  • Provide documentation for a variety of security issues which can include annual security required documentation, research results, diagrams, plans, reports or presentations.
  • Interface with a variety of vendors to facilitate solutions.
  • May provide support for compliance with the FISMA and other security legislation and mandates.
  • Provides guidance and recommendations on security related activities.
  • Collaborates with the RMLS Team and Security Team to develop and implement security solutions.
  • Supports risk assessments and subsequent mitigation.
  • Reviews applicable regulations; provides guidance on the deployment of the architecture and processes necessary to achieve and maintain compliance.

Work Environment
  • Full-time position with a standard flexible work schedule and occasional non-standard work hours.
  • Occasional travel (less than 5%).
  • Cubicle environment.

The base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
