The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer with a background in mechanical, civil, or naval engineering to support a diverse set of Navy programs including structural analysis, fatigue life estimation, finite element analysis, and shipboard inspections. This position involves working across several ship classes and engineering tools, providing technical expertise to maintain and enhance naval structural integrity and readiness.

Vehicle Decks: Perform deck analysis of aircraft, vehicles, and equipment using DPC 130-2 and 130-3 standards

Responsibilities:
BWSA Support:
- Redline structural drawings
- Provide DFS Tool inputs for Tier 1 assessments
- Support Tier 3 finite element analyses (FEA)
- Conduct ship checks and provide repair recommendations
LSD-49 Class Support:
- Develop and maintain NLign models
- Enter and update NLign data to reflect current conditions
CMP Program Support:
- Maintain and update NLign and FEM models to reflect "as-is" ship conditions
- Track program metrics and provide DFS Tool support
- Perform fatigue life estimations and load studies
- Conduct ship checks and develop repair recommendations

Qualifications:
Required:
- U.S Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Naval Architecture
- (Ideal degrees/skillsets are a C.E. with concentration in structures or a M.E with concentration in Mechanics of Materials)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Basic FEA experience (model development, load application, non-linear analysis)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Desired:
- 1-3 years of experience with naval structural systems
- Active secret security clearance
- Working knowledge of naval structural drawings and build specifications
- Experience with standards and manuals including:
- DPC 100-4
- DPC 130-2 and DPC 130-3
- MIL-HDBK-519
- T9100-AE-MAN-010
- MIL-STD-1689 (Navy Maintenance and Repair)
- Navy T00005681-SAF-010 (System Safety Engineering Manual)
- Coding/scripting skills in Python, C++, or C#
- Familiarity with Navy engineering tools such as:
- DFS Tool
- ULTSTR
- FCCS/HSSS
- SHCP
- SPECTRA
- Experience conducting fatigue life assessments
