Primary Responsibilities:
The Level 3 CI Cyber Threat Analyst will provide expert technical counterintelligence analysis to protect and defend NGA's cyber domain. Core responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive technical CI analysis of NGA networks and information systems to identify, evaluate, and mitigate insider threats, cyber intrusions, and anomalous activity.
- Applying expertise in foreign intelligence cyber threat capabilities and tactics to assess potential vulnerabilities and countermeasures.
- Identifying and tracking CI indicators related to cyber activity, and collaborating with IT security, analysts, and operations teams.
- Authoring CI assessments, alerts, briefings, and technical reports tailored to cyber-related threats and anomalies.
- Conducting forensic analysis and maintaining awareness of advanced persistent threat (APT) actors and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
- Leveraging IC tools and technologies to assess data integrity and identify data exfiltration risk.
- Supporting incident response and CI cyber investigations by advising on technical risk and attribution.
- Participating in interagency and NGA internal working groups to coordinate CI cyber threat information and develop defensive recommendations.
Required Qualifications:
- TS/SCI clearance
- At least 7 years of relevant CI cyber threat analytic experience
- Completion of a federal or DoD-accredited CI training academy (e.g., FBI Academy, CI Special Agent Course)
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Intelligence, Computer Science, or related field
- Strong knowledge of adversary cyber operations and intelligence tradecraft
- Experience with cybersecurity tools (e.g., Splunk, Wireshark, ARCSIGHT, RSA NetWitness, Palantir, Tripwire, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in relevant field
- Familiarity with ICD 503 and 704 requirements
- Background in TTP analysis and red/blue team support
- Experience with cyber threat hunting and vulnerability analysis
- Cyber certification such as CISSP, CEH, or equivalent
Salary Range
$110,000-$130,000
