Position Overview:
The Level 3 CI Cyber Threat Technical Analyst provides counterintelligence (CI) technical expertise in detecting, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats affecting the mission, technologies, and personnel of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). The analyst applies technical knowledge to support CI and cybersecurity integration, enabling proactive detection and countermeasure strategies.

Position Overview:
The Level 3 CI Cyber Threat Technical Analyst provides counterintelligence (CI) technical expertise in detecting, analyzing, and responding to cyber threats affecting the mission, technologies, and personnel of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). The analyst applies technical knowledge to support CI and cybersecurity integration, enabling proactive detection and countermeasure strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct analysis of known or suspected foreign intelligence entity cyber threats, including collection methods, target identification, and intent.
- Perform technical CI analyses on anomalous behavior within systems and networks.
- Monitor and assess cyber threats across classified and open-source environments.
- Leverage advanced tools such as Splunk, ArcSight, Wireshark, M3, TAC, Palantir, and other government platforms to conduct technical investigations and analyses.
- Provide forensic and incident response support as it relates to CI threats.
- Coordinate with stakeholders across NGA, the Intelligence Community (IC), DoD, and law enforcement.
- Deliver concise, actionable briefings and technical reports to CI leadership.
- Maintain awareness of evolving adversary cyber tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
- Participate in CI investigations and incident response teams to assess and mitigate technical threats.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant CI or cyber threat analysis experience.
- Demonstrated experience with cyber threat intelligence, cybersecurity monitoring, and/or CI technical assessments.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-53, ICD 503, and supply chain risk frameworks.
- Strong analytical writing, communication, and briefing skills.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Experience with advanced tools such as Splunk, ArcSight, Wireshark, M3, TAC, Palantir, etc.
- Graduate of a recognized CI training program (e.g., DoD JCITA, FBI Academy).
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a related technical or intelligence field.
- Industry certifications such as CEH, GCIA, GCIH, CISSP, or Security+.
- Prior experience supporting NGA, DIA, or other IC agencies in a CI/cyber role.
- Knowledge of NGA's cyber and CI policies and environments.
- Experience supporting Research & Technology Protection (RTP) efforts.
