The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a skilled VMware/Linux Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of VMware environments and Linux servers. This role requires a strong understanding of virtualization technologies, Linux operating systems, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

Responsibilities:

VMware Administration:
• Install, configure, and manage VMware ESXi hosts and vCenter Server.
• Perform routine maintenance, patching, and upgrades of VMware infrastructure.
• Monitor VMware environment performance and optimize resource utilization.
• Create and manage virtual machines, templates, and clones.
• Implement and maintain VMware High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), and Fault Tolerance (FT).

Linux Administration:
• Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.).
• Perform system updates, patching, and security hardening.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and system resources.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Implement backup and recovery solutions for Linux environments.

General IT Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operation of IT infrastructure.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Provide technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users.

Qualifications:

Required:

Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.

Certifications:
• VMware Certifications (VCP, VCAP, or equivalent) preferred.
• Linux Certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent) preferred.
• CompTIA Security + CE certification required.

Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in VMware administration.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Linux server administration.
• Proven experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter.
• Strong command-line skills in Linux environments.
• Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python) is a plus.

Technical Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of VMware products and features.
• Proficiency in Linux system administration.
• Experience with storage solutions (SAN, NAS) and networking concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements.

Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to documentation.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to acquire a SECRET security clearance.
• Must be willing to work on site in Norco CA, this is not a remote position.


Desired:

Additional Certifications:
• Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
• Additional cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator).

Experience:
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus).

Soft Skills:
• Project management experience.
• Experience in a leadership or mentorship role.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$90,300 - 189,600 USD
