North Edge Technology seeks an experienced 911 Engineer to lead critical emergency communications infrastructure projects across DoD installations. This role bridges legacy E911 sustainment with Next Generation 911 (NG911) modernization, requiring deep expertise in IP-based voice systems, network engineering, and DoD cybersecurity compliance. Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain 911 call routing systems, including Enhanced 911 (E911) and NG911 platforms
  • Integrate emergency communications systems with federal networks while maintaining security boundaries and compliance
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues across voice, data, and location services within 911 infrastructure
  • Configure and optimize Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) interfaces and Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) equipment
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with military installation emergency services, security forces, and civilian first responders
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and preventive maintenance during approved maintenance windows
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and emergency response exercises
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure 99.999% uptime requirements

Qualifications

  • Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance required.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience with emergency communications systems, telecommunications, or related field
  • Education: Combination of training, certification, and education in related fields.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge of VoIP technologies, SIP protocols, and telephony systems
    • Experience with IP networking, routing, and switching in secure environments
    • Familiarity with emergency services IP networks (ESInets) and NG911 standards
    • Understanding of location-based services and GIS technologies
