Waypoint's client is seeking a Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM) Principal Systems Engineer to lead and support C3BM systems engineering activities. This role will focus on the integration and technical analysis of Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) functions, including future concept development, international collaboration, and interface design.

Waypoint's client is seeking a Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM) Principal Systems Engineer to lead and support C3BM systems engineering activities. This role will focus on the integration and technical analysis of Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) functions, including future concept development, international collaboration, and interface design.
Responsibilities:
- Lead interoperability engineering, technical analysis, and integration guidance across C2BMC, MDS Elements, and external capabilities.
- Participate in C2BMC software engineering reviews, product analysis, and Agile development processes for spiral product builds.
- Develop specifications, interface definitions, and technical baselines for current and future C3BM spirals.
- Support C3BM architecture evolution with a focus on Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) capabilities.
- Provide input into MDA ground test planning and objectives development.
- Evaluate integration of future products into MDA/BC spiral builds through interface and requirements reviews.
- Support modeling and simulation activities involving C2BMC, sensors, space assets, and threat modeling.
- Coordinate Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) activities for C2BMC and OPIR initiatives.
- Engage in BMDS OPIR Architecture (BOA) Agile processes to support technical maturation.
- Participate in multinational capability exchange designs and integration planning.
- Master's degree in a STEM field.
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Experience with MDA or DoD systems engineering lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Agile software development and related timelines.
- Background in Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BMDS), C3BM programs, or MDA sensor efforts.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving technical environment.
- Experience in applying network engineering solutions to real-world integration and operations.
- Military background or experience supporting defense-related initiatives.
- Experience working in collaborative environments with Government and multi-contractor teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn quickly.
