Waypoint's client is seeking a C3BM Interface Systems Engineer to support critical systems engineering efforts for Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) and the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Overhead Persistent Infrared Architecture (BOA). This role focuses on interface definition, MBSE application, and integration across C2BMC, BOA, and MDS elements, supporting future concepts, international exchange designs, and evolving system functionality.

Responsibilities:

• Support definition and development of system and subsystem interfaces for C2BMC and BOA using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
• Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Description Documents (IDDs), and Interface Requirements Specifications (IRS).
• Use MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect) to define interfaces and model system behaviors.
• Analyze operational, functional, and architectural requirements to drive accurate interface specifications.
• Collaborate with systems engineers and developers to define and integrate hardware/software interfaces across C2BMC, BOA, and MDS elements.
• Participate in internal and external design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and interface control working groups.
• Evaluate integration and interoperability of new capabilities with existing technical baselines and future MDA/BC builds.
• Maintain configuration control of interfaces and manage change throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Support risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies related to interface development and interoperability.
• Prepare technical assessments, reports, official meeting minutes, and track action items to closure.
• Ensure adherence to interface standards, protocols, and MDA interoperability requirements.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in a STEM field.
• Minimum of 12 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Proficiency with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect).
• Experience in developing and managing interface documentation (ICDs, IDDs, IRS).
• Strong understanding of LINK-16 and tactical data link networks.
• Familiarity with DoD engineering standards and systems lifecycle management.
• Ability to apply systems and network engineering principles in real-world integration, testing, and operational environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and within cross-functional, collaborative teams.
