Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a qualified Cyber Security Analyst to support the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) global Security Operations Center (SOC). In this role, you will be part of a dedicated team responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats that impact the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN).

This position supports a 24/7/365 operational environment and requires flexibility to work on a rotational shift schedule, including day, evening, overnight, and weekend shifts throughout the year. You'll leverage advanced Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity and security of mission-critical systems.

Their vigilance ensures uninterrupted simulation capabilities, protects sensitive data, and supports national defense readiness across the globe.

What you will do

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain SIEM tools such as Exabeam and LogRhythm
  • Monitor alerts and logs to identify security threats, anomalies, and operational issues
  • Maintain a consolidated dashboard of NETTN cybersecurity components, including:
    • Status of cybersecurity services
    • Sensor grid health
    • Sensor performance and availability
  • Triage and investigate security incidents, providing initial analysis and severity assessments
  • Monitor and restore abnormal security event feeds
  • Assess systems and networks for deviations from acceptable configurations or policies
  • Support help desk operations, ticketing, and customer communications
  • Evaluate incident response procedures and escalate complex issues to Tier III analysts
  • Apply DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
  • Use network and performance monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds)
  • Understand internet architecture and firewall configurations for system protection
  • Configure and validate Tenable Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scans
  • Create and analyze Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) dashboards, queries, and logs
  • Install and troubleshoot Trellix endpoint products (e.g., Agent, Endpoint Security [ENS], Data Loss Prevention [DLP])
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address security findings


What you must have

Education & Experience

Candidate must meet one of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Master's degree in a related field (no experience required)
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 6+ years of relevant experience
Certifications & Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Current or Active DoD Secret clearance (must be maintained)
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or equvalent/higher-level certification (required)
  • Must meet DoD 8570.1-M and SECNAV M-5239.2 requirements at the Information Assurance Technician Level II (IAT-II)
Skills & Attributes
  • Experience working with SIEM tools
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting security event data
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Eagerness to grow in cybersecurity and IT/Operational Technology (OT) security operations
  • Willingness and availability to work rotational shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as part of a 24/7/365 support team


Preferred Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related.
  • Experience in cybersecurity operations within a DoD or government environment
  • Hands-on experience in SOC operations and incident response
  • Proficiency in analyzing logs and mitigating threats
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting for log analysis/reporting
  • Experience with:
    • Tenable ACAS
    • Trellix ePO
    • Splunk Enterprise Security


Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
