We are a rapidly growing, early-stage, high-growth startup, recently spun out of a prominent Google lab. We are at the forefront of revolutionizing space communications, building mesh network capabilities for satellites across any orbit and providers to deliver real-time communication access for critical missions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facility Security Officer (FSO) to join our team. This is an on-site role integral to our compliance with national security regulations.
As an FSO, you will be a critical part of our mission, working closely with our leadership team to ensure all personnel and facility security clearance requirements are met and maintained. Your expertise will directly contribute to our ability to innovate and deliver cutting-edge solutions for space-based communications.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facility Security Officer (FSO) to join our team. This is an on-site role integral to our compliance with national security regulations.
As an FSO, you will be a critical part of our mission, working closely with our leadership team to ensure all personnel and facility security clearance requirements are met and maintained. Your expertise will directly contribute to our ability to innovate and deliver cutting-edge solutions for space-based communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for all National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other relevant government security regulations (e.g., Intelligence Community Directives, DoD Manuals).
- Manage all aspects of personnel security clearances, including:
- Processing new security clearances and re-investigations.
- Assisting employees with the accurate completion and submission of SF-86 forms through e-QIP.
- Initiating and managing security clearance transfers (reciprocity) for incoming personnel.
- Conducting security briefings (initial, annual, debriefings, foreign travel).
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date personnel security records within relevant government databases (e.g., DISS/NBIS).
- Providing guidance and support to employees on all matters related to their security clearances.
- Oversee all aspects of facility security compliance, including:
- Ensuring the facility adheres to all contractual and government requirements for classified operations.
- Managing access control systems and procedures for restricted areas.
- Conducting regular security self-inspections and supporting government assessments.
- Developing and implementing robust security plans, policies, and procedures.
- Maintaining accountability of classified materials and government-furnished information.
- Coordinating with government agencies, such as the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), on all security matters.
- Interpret and apply contractual requirements related to both individual security clearances and facility security clearances to ensure full compliance.
- Investigate security incidents and violations, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive security awareness, training, and education programs for all employees.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with prime and subcontractor security officers as required.
- Stay current with evolving security regulations, policies, and industry best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or Assistant FSO in an industrial security environment.
- Thorough working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
- Proficiency with government security databases and systems, including DISS/NBIS and e-QIP.
- Extensive experience processing security clearances and completing SF-86 forms.
- Strong understanding of personnel security and facility security compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and make critical security decisions.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Industrial Security, Criminal Justice, National Security).
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., FSO Program Management, CDSE courses).
