The Opportunity:
Serve as an Assessments Integration SME for Marine Forces - South as part of the Southern Command Operations Planning and Engagement Support (SCOPES) Task Order at MARFORSOUTH HQ in New Orleans, LA. Utilizes assessment data and methodologies, provides support to the MARFORSOUTH operational planning process, establishes clear objectives for every operation, activity, and investment (OAI) undertaken by the command, and gives in-depth feedback on progress toward accomplishing the Commander's vision, mission, principles, goals, strategies, and objectives.

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The Opportunity:

Utilizes assessment data and methodologies, provides support to the MARFORSOUTH operational planning process, establishes clear objectives for every operation, activity, and investment (OAI) undertaken by the command, and gives in-depth feedback on progress toward accomplishing the Commander's vision, mission, principles, goals, strategies, and objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Applies advanced analytic processes, mathematical and/or statistical principles, concepts, methods and techniques to solve complex problems.
- Drafts and implements assessment collection plans to ensure data required to analyze operations, exercises, processes and cost/benefit determinations is available and the elements of MARFORSOUTH Assessments Order (MAO) 3504 are applied.
- Prepares and delivers concise briefs on complex subjects to seniors, peers and subordinates to facilitate sound decision making.
- Drafts recommendations for military and civilian planners on the employment of appropriate assessment analysis techniques during all phases of the planning and execution cycle for MARFORSOUTH's Operations, Activities, and Investments (OAI) as well as indicators, measures of performance, and measures of effectiveness for each OAI such as operational plans, training/exercise planning, and engagements.
- Serves as the conduit between MARFORSOUTH and the Marine Corps Center for Lessons Learned to ensure that requirements found in MCO 3504.1A are fulfilled.
- Participates in the MARFORSOUTH Assessments Working Group and assists with the drafting of MARFORSOUTH assessment policies, directives, and standard operating procedures.
- Travels in support of SOUTHCOM or MARFORSOUTH operations, training or conferences.
- Prepares reports, analyses, reviews, information papers, presentations, milestones, and other written products.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Current SECRET security clearance. Be eligible for a Top Secret/Specialized Compartmented Information Security Clearance.
- At least 10 years' experience working on a Strategic or Operational Staff utilizing data for Assessments, Plans, and Operations.
- The ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with Senior leaders.
- A Master's degree in a related discipline.
- A current Tourist Passport with an expiration date more than 6 months away
Desired Qualifications:
- Spanish language capability
- Be a graduate of a military advanced operations/planning course and/or MEL-1 institution
- Commissioned service in the United States Marine Corps
