Description
Assured Information Security (AIS) is looking for an experienced Cross-Platform Systems Engineer to support a critical 24/7 DoD cyber operations program. This program contributes directly to the execution of DoD's cyber missions. This role involves working on a platform that empowers cyber operators with robust cyber defense and offense capabilities. This is an onsite position located in Hanover, MD. Occasional shift work may be required for this position.

US Salary Range: $145,000 - $158,000
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.

Assured Information Security (AIS) is looking for an experienced Cross-Platform Systems Engineer to support a critical 24/7 DoD cyber operations program. This program contributes directly to the execution of DoD's cyber missions. This role involves working on a platform that empowers cyber operators with robust cyber defense and offense capabilities. This is an onsite position located in Hanover, MD. Occasional shift work may be required for this position.
What You'll Do:
- Assist developers in the integration and troubleshooting of system components
- Perform daily system administration, optimization, configuration, and user assistance.
- Determine computer user needs and implement system changes, upgrades, and/or configuration to meet the needs.
- Monitor system load and usage and planning for necessary technical refresh
- Install, configure and maintain mid-range operating systems.
- Daily patching of the system, troubleshooting of system/network outages, and implementation of automation techniques for increased monitoring and/or deploying of system updates.
- Apply advanced consulting skills and/or extensive technical expertise and industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Able to work without considerable direction and can mentor and/or supervise team members.
Education/Experience/Skillset Required:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of directly related experience or a Master's degree and 3+ years of directly related experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Linux+ certification or similar certification
- CCNA certification
Proficiency with the following:
- Deployment and automation scripting with Ansible and Python
- Linux and Windows system administration
- Patching Windows and Linux vulnerabilities
- Host-based networking and Cisco configurations
- Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Travel: Up to 10%
