As directed, performs a variety of warehousing duties, which require an understanding of the establishments' storage plan, Inventory Programs, and bar scanner operations.

Responsibilities

Candidate will work under the supervision of the Detainee Welfare Manager. The Warehouse Specialist will act independently or assist in the performance of any and all duties necessary to keep the facility in full operation. Will perform other duties as assigned.

The duties listed below are not set forth for purposes of limiting the assignment of work. They should not be construed as a complete list of the various duties normally performed by the individuals assigned to the Warehouse department or those to be performed temporarily outside an employee's normal line of work. Arranging and taking inventory of stored materials.

  • Fills shipping or transfer order for finished goods from stored merchandise in accordance with specification on requisitions or other instructions.
  • Examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.
  • Removing materials from storage and preparing it for distribution.
  • Inputs data into computer, keeps records and submits reports to supervisor.
  • Utilizes inventory programs and bar scanner equipment.
  • Reports discrepancies to the Manager. Routes and directs materials to prescribed storage locations and stacks or palletizes materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  • Keep records of incoming, outgoing, requisitions, and additional stock reporting short supplies to supervisor.
  • May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehouse duties.
  • Assists with receiving, packaging, and unpacking and inventorying of supply items as needed.
  • Distribute supplies as needed
  • Work is completed in a priority established by supervision or facility need.
  • All work will be completed with a high degree of professionalism, quality and craftsmanship.
  • Lulls in workload are used to maintain a clean and orderly work area and to insure clerical tasks are up to date.
  • Keeps up to date on departmental and facility safety standards and local codes and policies.


Qualifications

  • Must be a US citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence and have resided in the U.S. for the last five years
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have 1 Year Experience in warehousing and/or logistics.
  • Must be able to Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance
  • Must pass all pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license
  • The incumbent must be trustworthy
  • The incumbent must have a minimum of one year of experience in warehouse operations
  • Must possess a knowledge of day-to-day operations of a warehouse
  • Must maintain confidentiality
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity, accountability and adhere to the American Correctional Association and DHS ICE standards
  • Must demonstrate an ability to work with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures, with different values and lifestyles, with a cross-cultural perspective
  • Must maintain current/physical residence in the continental United States
