What You Will Do:

This Director-level (M7) position reports to the Raytheon Digital VP of Program Digital Services (PDS). The Air and Space Defense Systems (ASDS) Digital Director is pivotal in helping to shape the future of Raytheon through strategic program management and systems transformation.

The PDS team establishes the secure digital foundation for program success across all Strategic Business Units (SBUs), delivering and managing integrated and secure solutions in areas such as network engineering, storage, system administration, high-performance computing, hyperconverged infrastructure, and advanced system architecture.

The PDS ASDS Digital Director is the face of Digital Technology to the ASDS SBU. A successful candidate will deliver a superset of DT capabilities to deliver substantial business value to the ASDS SBU, which by extension delivers the needs of Raytheon and RTX. This will be achieved by developing and deploying talent and technical capabilities, while strengthening relationships with internal and external peers to ensure the holistic success of the DT organization in meeting strategic digital transformation objectives.

Primary responsibilities include managing and developing a team of 300+ members to achieve business, engineering and program/SBU needs. The role involves seeking and developing synergies between multiple groups with a goal to drive standards and proactively innovate solutions in response to evolving security requirements. This position requires vision, strategic planning, and the creation of operational metrics to inform long-term capital investments. This approach will provide Strategic Business Units with the clarity needed regarding options, costs, and solutions for informed investment decisions.

This will be an on-site role with the preferred locations of Aurora, Colorado; Tucson, Arizona; El Segundo or Fullerton, CA; Tewksbury, Woburn, Marlborough, or Andover, MA; Dulles, VA; and McKinney or Plano, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

Executive Engagement: Provide critical support to executive-level briefs, updating the Raytheon business unit president and senior leadership team on progress, risks, and opportunities to guide pivotal business and resource allocation decisions.

Program Leadership: Provide influential leadership to Digital ASDS SBU, teaming with peer organizations, driving both short-term and long-term strategies to ensure objectives, costs, and schedules are met.

Performance Enhancement: Lead efforts to significantly improve processes, systems, tools, and data performance across Raytheon, setting new benchmarks for excellence.

Strategic Decision-Making: Develop and present compelling business cases, conduct scenario modeling, and facilitate enterprise-level decisions by leveraging data and trend analysis.

Employee and Organization Development: Develop high-performing teams aligned with Raytheon vision, strategy, values and behaviors. Demonstrate our culture of people development and accountability. Embrace creative time management practices. Lead DT process improvements and change management efforts to support organizational growth.

Travel: Travel as required to meet business needs and support program objectives; typically, 25% of the time but varies widely based upon the needs of the business.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Role typically requires a bachelor's degree with 14 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 12 years relevant experience. In lieu of degree, 18 years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • Experience in Program and Project management.
  • Experience leading teams in a technology organization.
  • Experience managing workforce planning and resource management.
  • Experience in financial management, either in financial portfolio or budget, including Annual Operations Planning.
  • Experience in Classified Environments, including Security requirements and controls.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications we strongly prefer:
  • Influential Leadership: Experience in leadership, development, inspire, and motivate large teams with preference for past leadership in Digital Technology (DT) or Information Technology (IT) organization.
  • Experience managing large-scale system transformation initiatives.
  • Experience successfully presenting to executive leadership with proven effective communication skills, with ability to influence and lead change.
  • Relationship builder at all levels and across Enterprise with experience collaborating with functional engineering, Real Estate, Cyber Security and programs.
  • Experience in bridging teams across various functions, enabling connection and communication to effectively meet the PST program objectives.
  • Knowledge of DFARs, CMMC, RMF, DAAPM, and JSIG requirements and controls.
  • Experience with cyber and compliance hardening, process controls, and risk management.
  • Experience leading complex programs and managing a segment of the business to effectively represent the needs of technology organizations.


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • New Business pursuits, capture and program standup
  • Experience in identifying, prioritizing, and advocating for digital investments in partnership with the business.
  • Experience working in Classified Computing environments, preferrable with knowledge of operating in Top Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) Areas.
  • Experience in Networking, System Administration, IT/DT data center operations/services, Data Storage & Protection methodologies, and / or High-Performance Computing.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams through influence and facilitating decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex issues, develop effective solutions, and drive to timely resolution
  • Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting tasks and initiatives
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued DoD Secret security clearance, or a US DoD Top Secret Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
