Summary of Duties:
As the Controller at Advantage SCI, you'll be responsible for oversight, direction and management of all accounting duties i.e., Payroll, Accounting, Billing, AP, Treasury, Banking, Taxes, Audits, and all regulatory compliance of a federal government contracting business to ensure goals and objectives are met and exceeded. Prepares and presents financial reports and analysis; maintains all corporate system licensing, required policies and comprehensive set of internal controls. Creates budgets and forecasts designed to mitigate risk and ensure accurate reporting. Develop strategies to accomplish finance operations and activities and ensures all functions comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and government contracting standards to include FAR, DCAA, DCMA, and IRS. Must be reliable to perform duties in the HQ Corporate office Monday through Friday; 40-hour work week or longer if needed to meet deadlines. This position requires strong interpersonal and communications skills, excellent Excel skills, accounting system implementation experience and strong problem-solving and organizational skills as well as supervisory experience.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Prepares and analyze monthly financial statements to include Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Job status reports, client profitability reports, budgets and interim forecasts which include monitoring daily performance, analyzing operating results and making recommendations that will optimize company profitability
- Manages work performed in finance and accounting (Payroll, billing, AP, treasury, taxes, 401K, audits, etc.) and supervision and professional development of department staff
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP and Cost Accounting standards and regulatory requirements; Analyzes monthly ledger activity and closes month- and year-end
- Ensures accounts payable are paid in a timely manner for compliance and maintaining high D&B credit ratings
- Ensures that accounts receivables are collected promptly
- Ensures payroll is processed correctly and in a timely manner
- Ensures that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
- Ensures that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
- Maintains the chart of accounts
- Maintains a system of controls and accuracy of all accounting transactions
- Develops and maintains effective internal audit process which ensures compliance to accounting policies and procedures
- Calculates variances from the budget and reports significant issues to management
- Establishes and maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Process timely month-end transactions; provide budgeting and cash flow planning and analysis
- Consistently analyzes financial data and presents financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of Company's financial status
- Establishes and maintains relationship with lending institutions; monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
- Maintains a positive relationship with vendors, and customers.
- Complies with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Provides support to proposal development by writing Price and Cost volumes, developing a winning pricing solution and provide documentation and metrics as required
- Provides leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels throughout the organization; create and promote a positive and supportive work environment
- Partners with other departments to ensure process efficiency in interrelated tasks; and
- Provides financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
