Senior Systems Administrator (Linux/Windows)

Zachary Piper Solutions is currently looking for a Senior Systems Administrator - Linux/Windows to support a classified government program on-site in Seattle, WA or El Segundo, CA . The Senior Systems Administrator will be part of a mission-critical team supporting a disruptive computer network for the National Security Agency (NSA). This individual will play a key role in maintaining secure, high-performance computing environments across multiple sites, integrating embedded Linux systems, and ensuring compliance with national security standards.

Responsibilities for the Senior Systems Administrator include:

• Administer and maintain Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems, including virtualized environments.
• Provide end-to-end IT support in secure lab environments, from desktops to servers.
• Implement secure system designs using best practices in software and systems engineering.
• Manage system access, patching, and release planning for hardware/software.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues; automate tasks using scripting (e.g., PowerShell).
• Support classified networks and ensure compliance with RMF/JSIG security standards.
• Integrate and maintain applications and infrastructure, including embedded Linux (VxWorks).
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to support high-performance computing clusters.

Qualifications for the Senior Systems Administrator include:

• 9+ years of experience in lab/test, factory test, or similar environments.
• 9+ years of experience with Linux and/or Windows OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• 9+ years of hands-on experience with IT hardware, including switches, routers, HPC systems, and server racks.
• Experience with embedded Linux systems, particularly Wind River VxWorks.
• Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell), and familiarity with VMware, Active Directory, and GPOs.
• Knowledge of RMF/JSIG compliance and secure system integration.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with CI Poly.

Compensation for the Senior Systems Administrator include:

• Salary Range: $140,000 - $200,000 *depending on experience*
