Raytheon, an RTX Company, operating and sustaining Ground Systems (GS), which includes the Command and Control Element (C2E), the Mission Planning Element (MPE), and the Ground Processing Element (GPE). The Command-and-Control Operator (C2O) is responsible for planning and scheduling various ground and satellite Command and Control activities within the GS. As the C2O, you will be responsible for understanding the entire system, to include Space/Ground links, Ground Station support equipment, data transport systems, Mission Planning software, Command & Control software, ground hardware and architecture, and other internal and external interfaces.
Travel:
Inside the Continental United States for training as required.
Schedule:
The Mission Planning Operator position is staffed during normal business hours. However, the ability to be on call (after hours or weekends) is required when necessary.
Normal work hours are between 8am and 5pm Monday - Friday.
On-call (after hours or on weekends) in the event of an anomaly

This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSACAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. What You Will Do
- Execute the Raytheon Eclipse Command and Control software to interface with the vehicle and maintain vehicle health daily.
- Receive and process Mission Task Requests from the customer.
- Crosstrain as a Mission Planning Operator (MPO) and be able to perform in both positions, C2O and MPO.
- Define scheduling tasks used to allocate system resources.
- Execute the Raytheon Equinox and VTK scheduling software to perform manual resource allocation and de-confliction.
- Determine & schedule contacts with the ground terminal using vendor (ViaSat) provided software.
- Configure crypto equipment using vendor provided software.
- Support ground hardware and software upgrades, lifecycle management and testing.
- Interact with site personnel, vehicle provider, and customer.
- Available to work overtime with short notice and fill in for other crew members as required.
- Able to be on call (after hours or weekends) when necessary.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience performing satellite mission support in a near real-time operations environment.
- Experience monitoring satellite activities.
- Experience working in near real-time decision-making environment.
- Distinguish the difference between colors on a computer monitor (red, blue, white, and green), especially red, to React to alarm messages on a color display.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Excellent communication skills.
- Adapt to change on short notice and work in a small team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure.
- 4 years of satellite Command and Control operations or related experience.
- Orbital Dynamics. Strong interest in Satellites and Space Operations, Environmental Science, and Remote Sensing.
- Java, C++, C, Perl, or other programming/scripting language.
- Network (LAN/WAN) architecture, protocols, and equipment.
- Windows and Linux operating system.
- Mathematical modeling algorithms.
- ECLIPSE ™, EQUINOX ™, ESC ™ or similar C3S procedure development application.
- Satellite ground system knowledge and experience.
