IT Telephony Specialist
Location: Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL (On-Site, Full-Time)
Clearance Requirement: Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance (at time of application)
Salary Range: $70,000 – $120,000 DOE



Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Telephony Specialist to provide enterprise-level voice infrastructure and telecommunications support across classified and unclassified networks. The ideal candidate will have experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting VoIP and legacy systems in secure DoD environments and will be instrumental in supporting mission-critical communications.



Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, and maintain enterprise IP telephony solutions (Cisco Call Manager, Unity, etc.)
• Support day-to-day operations and troubleshooting for VoIP, analog lines, voice gateways, voicemail, and E911 systems
• Coordinate and provision voice/data circuits and telephony hardware (phones, headsets, etc.)
• Interface with DISA, local service providers, and end-users to ensure availability, uptime, and compliance
• Manage and maintain call routing plans, dial plans, hunt groups, voicemail policies, and softphones
• Monitor voice network performance and conduct root-cause analysis of telephony incidents
• Assist with infrastructure modernization, migration, and integration projects
• Ensure adherence to DoD security standards, RMF requirements, and STIG compliance
• Maintain inventory and documentation for telecom systems, devices, and configurations



Required Qualifications
• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT/telecommunications, with a focus on VoIP systems
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity, and Jabber
• Proficiency in SIP, MGCP, H.323, and PSTN configurations
• Familiarity with supporting secure voice and data communications in a DoD environment
• Knowledge of E911 regulations, telephony security, and telecom infrastructure best practices
• Strong customer service skills and ability to support users across multiple locations
• Excellent documentation, ticketing, and change management practices



Preferred Qualifications
• Cisco CCNA Collaboration or equivalent certification
• Experience with classified voice networks and DISA telecom provisioning
• Background supporting USAF or Space Force environments
• Knowledge of RMF, STIGs, and NIST 800-53 controls
• Familiarity with ticketing systems like ServiceNow
