Job Title: Network/System Administrator III
What You’ll Do:
You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the government agency’s computer networks and systems, including both small local networks and larger wide-area networks. You’ll help plan and improve the organization's IT setup by choosing the right technology and fixing technical problems when they come up.
You will support sensitive and classified programs related to the Department of Defense, ensuring these systems run smoothly and securely every day.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work independently and lead a team handling daily network operations.
• Manage security and protect the network from cyber threats.
• Use monitoring tools to watch for any network issues or security incidents.
• Participate in responding to security problems when they arise.
• Help improve network security and reliability.
• Use different software and tools (like Windows servers, Linux servers, firewalls, and security systems) to support the network.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Basic understanding of network and virtualization technology.
• Knowledge of how to secure communication systems and comply with government security rules.
• Experience with managing software updates and backups.
• Understanding of DoD policies about system and network management.
Requirements:
• Bachelors' degree or 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
• 5 years of experience providing systems or network support
• IAT II compliance (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent)
Compensation:
$50/hr to $65/hr.
