The Security System Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality assurance of physical security systems in both government and commercial facilities. This position requires hands-on work with electronic, mechanical, and video surveillance (CCTV) systems, often in challenging environments such as confined spaces, elevated platforms, or hazardous areas.
TS/SCI
Key Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, and repair components and wiring for Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Access Control Systems (ACS), and CCTV solutions.
Perform installations on security infrastructure including door contacts, motion detectors, duress switches, glass break sensors, card readers, keypads, turnstiles, request-for-exit devices, power supplies, junction boxes, and enclosures.
Install and terminate copper and fiber optic cables in compliance with standards.
Troubleshoot and diagnose system faults and software issues; recommend corrective actions.
Conduct quality assurance (QA) reviews and ensure all work meets applicable codes and industry best practices.
Interpret and work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation.
Program, configure, and update security system components and software.
Perform security sensor installations on perimeter fencing and elevated platforms such as towers, masts, rooftops, or lifts.
Maintain industry-required safety certifications and adhere to safety standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum of six (6) years of experience in the installation and maintenance of low-voltage physical security systems, including video surveillance, access control, and alarm systems.
Factory training and practical experience with leading industry solutions such as LENEL, Honeywell, Sensormatic, or Bosch.
LENEL Certified Associate (LCA) certification is required.
BICSI certification or equivalent is recommended.
Strong ability to interpret technical documents, schematics, and system diagrams.
Comfortable working in various environments including confined spaces, high elevations, and secure/government facilities.
Preferred Skills:
Prior OCONUS deployment experience in a technical or security-related role.
Familiarity with safety protocols in classified and mission-critical environments.
Experience with QA/QC processes for federal or DoD installations.
