The Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist will support the continuity, enhancement, and strategic growth of the National Credit Union Administration’s (NCUA) reporting, analytics, and business intelligence environments. This role is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and ongoing support of mission-critical enterprise BI reports, dashboards, and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes that drive data-driven decision-making across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical capabilities, experience working in BI environments, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and support enterprise business intelligence reports, dashboards, and ETL processes.
Ensure continuity and operational excellence of reporting and analytic environments.
Collaborate with business units to understand reporting needs and translate them into effective BI solutions.
Manage the timely flow and distribution of business intelligence information to internal users.
Conduct or coordinate data validation and testing to ensure outputs meet defined requirements and business objectives.
Disseminate information regarding tools, reports, and metadata enhancements to users and stakeholders.
Synthesize current business intelligence and trend data to support strategic recommendations and decisions.
Monitor usage and performance of BI tools; provide support and training to ensure effective adoption.
Maintain a centralized library of model documents, templates, and reusable knowledge assets.
Identify and analyze industry or geographic trends that have implications for NCUA’s business strategy.
Contribute to the organization’s BI roadmap by supporting the evolution of its data and reporting capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related field.
OR
At least 5 years of work experience in a related field may be substituted for education.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related discipline.
Hands-on experience designing and developing dashboards and reports using modern BI tools.
Experience in managing ETL processes and maintaining BI data pipelines.
