This role supports mission-critical efforts to extract, process, and analyze data from unstructured and semi-structured sources to drive strategic insights and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities
- Apply systems engineering principles to design, analyze, and manage complex systems-of-systems architectures.
- Extract and transform data from unstructured/semi-structured sources such as PDFs, CONOPS, and DoDAF artifacts using tools like Apache Tika and PDFMiner.
- Develop and apply NLP and ML models to derive insights from textual and structured data.
- Conduct qualitative analysis and present findings through data visualization and storytelling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate mission needs into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools using Python, R, and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Support the development of system documentation, including requirements specifications, interface definitions, and test plans.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Systems Engineer Level 1
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required and seven (7) years as a SE in program and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Systems Engineer Level 2
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required and fourteen (14) years as a SE in program and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Systems Engineer Level 3
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required and twenty (20) years as a SE in program and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
- Note: Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
Additional Skills & Abilities
- Experience with:
- Systems engineering for complex, multi-domain systems.
- NLP and ML techniques and tools.
- Data extraction from unstructured/semi-structured documents.
- Programming in Python and/or R.
- Frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Apache Tika, and PDFMiner.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) systems, documentation standards, and mission environments.
- Experience with data governance, metadata tagging, and schema alignment in support of enterprise analytics.
