THE OPPORTUNITY:
Upon award, BTAS will be filling potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States's space capabilities, delivering cutting-edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) current and future operational needs.
As a leader in space technology, SSC/SZ-BC is responsible for the development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical systems spanning the entire acquisition life cycle. These efforts ensure the United States Space Force (USSF) and its mission partners maintain a strategic advantage in space operations. This position will support multiple SSC/SZ-BC programs, as well as other initiatives across the Space Force, Air Force, and allied organizations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position advises and assists program managers to identify and minimize the likelihood of interface and integration problems. The person in this position coordinates and resolves issues and facilitates team communications. Tasks include coordinating resolution of program issues and facilitating effective integration of requirements and efforts with other acquisition and sustainment activities. This may include internal system interface issues, as well as external interface issues with multiple Government or mission partner organizations.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%.
TRAVEL:
Little if any travel is required.

COMPENSATION / SALARY RANGE:
BTAS adheres to federal, state, and local regulations. This is a Full-Time, Salary, Exempt position. The following salary range is what we reasonably expect to pay but is contingent and subject to a variety of factors, including but not limited to years of experience, education, certification(s), training, specialized skills, responsibilities, etc.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice and assistance for all projects and programs to support any stage of the acquisition life cycle.
- Support program acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration activities.
- Advise and assist the government on cost, schedule, and performance matters.
- Assist with management of the portfolio by providing information, advice, and recommendations for effective alignment of portfolio acquisitions, manpower, and funding.
- Advise and assist program managers to identify and minimize the likelihood of interface and integration problems.
- Coordinate and resolve issues and facilitate team communications, including coordinating resolution of program issues and facilitating effective integration of requirements and efforts with other acquisition and sustainment activities.
- Address both internal system interface issues and external interface issues with multiple Government or mission partner organizations.
- Maintain, update, and analyze the acquisition forecast to ensure it is current and consistent, identifying any disconnects or deficiencies.
- Incorporate inputs from the force design, operational imperatives, combatant command integrated priority lists, and future force shaping products to deliver recommendations that enhance Government planning and capability.
- Advise and assist leadership in support of high visibility engagements, commitments, and taskers, including at the congressional level.
- Draft, review, coordinate, and process program acquisition information suitable for public release to industry, media, trade publications, and other program stakeholders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires MS degree and more than 10 years' relevant experience/status, as follows:
- 15 years of extensive, relevant experience including duties/assignments specifically in support of space programs.
- Understanding of mission-critical aspects of acquisition and DoD space launch, ground and sustainment, and associated projects.
- Independently performs all functional duties, even of the lower labor categories, and requires no additional functional training.
- Knowledge of Higher Headquarters, Air Force, Space Command, processes and procedures as related to their functional responsibility; ability to speak/write Air Force and Space Acquisition terminology appropriately.
- Relevant areas of expertise limited to the following: Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Statistics.
- Specialized tools experience: Comp Cost & Req Sys, MAR Reporting Software, Microsoft Office Suite, TMT.
