A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do
• Analyze user requirements and translate them into software design and performance specifications.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain complex software systems, modifying existing code and adding new capabilities.
• Debug and troubleshoot software to correct defects and enhance system performance.
• Lead or contribute to development teams working across critical software integration, modeling, and performance validation.
• Implement advanced algorithms using scientific and mathematical models to forecast system behavior and outcomes.
• Develop and execute test procedures, validate system performance, and ensure mission readiness.
• Manage software development across multiple phases, ensuring code quality and design traceability.
• Collaborate with system engineers, users, and stakeholders to refine and implement technical solutions.
• Author and review software documentation, ensuring alignment with government standards and best practices.
• Work in UNIX or Windows environments, building and deploying applications using DevOps pipelines.
Is This You?
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution
• Experience: 10+ years of software engineering experience on contracts of similar scope and complexity; OR 14+ years without a degree
• Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph
• Traits: Technically driven, collaborative, self-starting, and solution-oriented with a deep understanding of secure software development
Core Skills
Required:
• Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, and Python for building complex mission software on UNIX or Windows platforms
• Experience in software architecture, system integration, and performance optimization
• Ability to design and implement complex algorithms to meet performance and operational goals
• Demonstrated experience with debugging, code review, and structured testing methodologies
• Skilled in creating technical documentation and leading or participating in development reviews
Preferred:
• DevOps tools and practices including Artifactory, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, and Packer
• CI/CD experience with tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo
• Familiarity with modeling & simulation, data repository design, and configuration management
• Ability to work in fast-paced, classified environments while maintaining compliance and security standards
