A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do
• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications for critical systems.
• Design, develop, and modify software to introduce new features, correct errors, or improve performance.
• Debug and troubleshoot existing code to ensure system reliability and functional accuracy.
• Integrate existing software into new or evolving environments, maintaining stability and compatibility.
• Develop and implement complex database interfaces and queries to support mission applications.
• Design and apply scientific algorithms and models to forecast and validate software performance.
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components and solutions.
• Author and review technical documentation to maintain traceability and knowledge management.
• Serve as a team lead as needed, guiding development efforts across the software lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineers and end-users to refine performance metrics, data usage, and architectural needs.
• Contribute to DevOps implementation using modern CI/CD pipelines and container-based deployment tools.

Is This You?
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution
• Experience: 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience; OR 11+ years without a degree
• Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph
• Traits: Technically versatile, solution-oriented, and collaborative with a strong sense of mission ownership

Core Skills
Required:

• Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, and Python for developing Windows or UNIX applications
• Experience designing and implementing complex algorithms and system models
• Skilled in writing and reviewing technical documentation and code analysis
• Proven ability to lead and coordinate development teams across software projects
• Experience in debugging, modifying, and enhancing software to align with evolving mission needs

Preferred:

• Expertise in DevOps technologies: Artifactory, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Packer
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Bamboo
• Strong knowledge of system integration, database performance, and secure coding practices
• Familiarity with system analysis workflows, user interaction models, and high-availability environments
